Layers of the Earth |
![]() |
Mrs. Culver’s science class is studying the layers of the Earth. In order to explain the liquid solid description that is given to the Earth’s inner core, Mrs. Culver had a boy lay down on a desk and had a lot of other boys pile up on top of him. This is a great example of a liquid solid because the boy couldn’t move after the pressure was applied. He became a solid, unlike before he could move allowing him to be a liquid. (In scientific terms, a liquid has molecules that can move, unlike a solid whose molecules remain in the same places.) |
