Layers of the Earth

Mrs. Culver’s science class is studying the layers of the Earth. In order to explain the liquid solid description that is given to the Earth’s inner core, Mrs. Culver had a boy lay down on a desk and had a lot of other boys pile up on top of him. This is a great example of a liquid solid because the boy couldn’t move after the pressure was applied. He became a solid, unlike before he could move allowing him to be a liquid. (In scientific terms, a liquid has molecules that can move, unlike a solid whose molecules remain in the same places.)
